If so, it is time to register for Kindergarten!</strong><br><br>Beginning on January 22, 2018, Birchview Dunes will be registering children for Junior Kindergarten classes for the 2018-19 school year. <br><br>You can fill out the <a href="https://www.scdsb.on.ca/Programs/Program%20Documents/RegistrationForm-ParentQuestionnaire.pdf" target="_blank">parent questionnaire and registration form</a> and the <a href="http://www.simcoemuskokahealth.org/docs/default-source/topic-immunization/school-immunization-history-form_dec-2016_final.pdf?sfvrsn=2" target="_blank">immunization history</a> form ahead of time and bring it to to the office along with your child's birth certificate, updated immunization record and proof of address. <br></span></p>

Black and silver to choose from.</li></ul><p></p><ul><li>Ms. Kaufman would like teachers to send any overdue library books to the library following the announcements.  At this point there are still over 450 books to be returned.  An update overdue list will be ready by Monday afternoon. Primary teachers are invited to bring their classes to the library to select books leftover from the swap. <br></li></ul><p></p><ul><li>Today is the day to order your Freezies for the Right to Play Day tomorrow! They are $1.00 each. <br></li></ul><ul><li>Teachers will collect orders and money this morning and then you will receive your freezie tomorrow during nutrition break.</li></ul><ul><li>Remember to wear your 'dunes pack' colour tomorrow and be prepared to participate outside for the majority of the day!</li></ul><ul><li>There will be an important Birchview's Got Talent meeting today in the library at first break. All participants must attend! There will also be a practice directly following the meeting for those wishing to do so.</li></ul><ul><li>Junior Indoor Soccer will wrap up its playoff season today when the Typhoons take on the Heatwaves at 10:35. Black and silver to choose from.</li></ul><ul><li>Mrs. Duits and Ms. Ewaskiw would like to thank, Ms. Winstone, Mrs. Sims and Mr. Carson for their help with track and field this year.  The relay team practice, jersey distribution and washing really helped us out.  Thanks again and we look forward to next year's track and field season.</li></ul><ul><li>The colouring club will be held today in Mrs. Butson's room 107 at the second half of first break.</li></ul><ul><li>Intermediate boys' pick-up basketball is cancelled today and has been re-scheduled for Friday during second break.</li></ul><ul><li>Yesterday the Birchview Dunes track and field team had a fantastic day at the area track meet at Stayner Collegiate.  Coaches, Ewaskiw, Duits, Winstone, Carson and Sims were very impressed with all of the athletes' sportsmanship and athletic ability.  Birchview had many strong individual athletes placing in the top six. Our school also had outstanding relay team performances with grade 5 boys, grade 7 boys and grade 8 girls placing first, grade 6 girls, grade 7 girls and grade 8 boys placing second and grade 5 girls placing 3.  In the end, Birchview placed 2nd overall, 14 points behind first place Nottawa.  Special mention goes to Ryder W who placed first overall for grade 5 boys and Aiden K who placed first overall for grade 7 boys and broke the area record for triple jump.  </li></ul><ul><li>The following are Birchview's results for each event:<span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong> 1600 meter-</strong></span> Meghan H – first, Aiden K – second, Ayden B – third.<span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>  800 meter-</strong></span> Krysten L – fourth,<span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong> 400 meter-</strong></span> Meghan H – first, Sarah D – second, Lanni L – second, Will M – third. Miss Lotta Scale would like to announce that there will be a Book Swap in the Library next Thursday.  You can bring your personal books you would like to swap to Ms. Kaufman this week and the beginning of next week. Miss Lotta Scale is helping Ms. Kaufman gather all the school's library books.  All library books are to be returned by Friday June 15th.</li></ul><ul><li>The LAST TGIF Youth Night of the year is THIS Friday – June 8<sup>th</sup> at 6:30 pm! Grab your friends this Friday night and hang out! Play video games, group games, win prizes, and, if you really want to, you can even dance to the sweet tunes pumped out by DJ Chuckie B from DJ Nation. This is an event just for grades 5 to 8, and the funs starts at 6:30 pm and ends at 8:30 pm at the Rec Plex.</li></ul><ul><li>There will be a meeting of the Student Wellness Committee on Wednesday at first break 10:35.</li></ul><ul><li>Congratulations to the Ms. White's class, Ms. Baumgarten's class, Ms. Major's class and to the boys and girls in Ms. Wojcik's class who have the most recorded acts of kindness in May!
